Administrative Director

Reports to: Director of DD Residential Services

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Administrative Director is responsible for the successful administration and management of the clinical, budgetary and business operations of a residential cluster. Provide administrative supervision to all cluster employees.

Essential Functions:

  1. Organize staff and staffing functions to provide appropriate and efficient consumer contact, services and satisfaction.
  2. Monitor scheduling of staff across cluster to ensure economy and efficiency of consumer contact and program coverage.
  3. Manage administrative processes and requirements in consultation with Business Office, Human Resources, Management Information Systems, Housing, and Maintenance functions.
  4. Manage and administer budget for cluster.
  5. Attend trainings assigned; maintain necessary certifications (CPR/First Aid, MAP, SOLVE, etc.).
  6. Monitor and improve job performance of all cluster staff.
  7. Provide on site management of administrative operations of individual programs within cluster.
  8. Ensure that multi-source performance evaluations are conducted for all employees in cluster.
  9. Maintain constructive and productive internal and external communications with staff, managers, providers, vendors, and funding sources.
  10. Ensure health and safety of consumers and staff through compliance with agency policies, OSHA and other safety standards.
  11. Ensure training for all staff in agency and division mission and values, and monitor implementation.
  12. Ensure that the clinical integrity of client programs and services are maintained.
  13. Ensure that consumers are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policies.
  14. Monitor individual support plans to ensure they are person-centered and support the individual's life goals.
  15. Perform physical intervention in the event of a client crisis.
  16. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
  17. Ensure that staff receives appropriate certifications and training to perform duties adequately.

Qualification/Education/Experience:

  1. Master's degree (M.A.) in social services or other related field; or six to ten years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  3. Must have sensitivity to the needs of the population.
  4. Must have at least two years supervisory experience.
  5. Basic computer knowledge.
  6. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  7. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
  8. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  9. Must hold a valid drivers' license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport consumers.
